I ran out with my friend Kenny for a couple of days on his boat last week. We started off making a few drifts with no luck before we got on a little blackfin bite. Caught 10 nice blacks in about an hour. The fish slowed down for an hour or two but then we got on a good drift with dozens of blackfin and hundreds of bonito at least under the boat. Everything we threw in the water was getting nailed by something. Then we finally got the momemt we were looking for when a couple of yellows showed up. Kenny hooked up the first one on a chunk and I managed to miss the 2nd one twice before he left. Both times it spit the chunk out super quick for some reason. We still had kennys hooked up though and about 45 minutes into the fight we put the gaff in a 121 pound yf tuna for kennys personal best. We played around with the blacks until we ran out of chum and they left.

Headed to the house with a dozen blacks and one good yf. On day two I figured it would be a repeat of day one. Got to the spot and found blue water instead of green. Normally you would think that was great but you never know off of venice and it was bad. I think I saw 5 bonito all day and absolutely no blackfin or yf.
