Offshore Venice LA Fishing Report: 12-05-2004

I had an overnight trip last night planned in a small weather window. While the wind never caused problems it sure did rain a lot on the way in. In fact it rained the whole 90 mile run from the floater to the dock. The 36 contender I was running made for a little quicker trip then normal though which was nice. We left the dock at 330 and made it to the rig around 630. Caught a couple blackfins on jigs and started chumming them. First bait in the water was a 70 pound yellowfin and it just continued from then on out. We had nonstop action till we quit fishing at 930 with 8 yellowfin boated and 2 released. All fish were caught on chum as the fish were not showing themselves at all. The only bait the tuna had in their stomachs was my chum. Had a great time with the Group Gabe Galster put together.
