Offshore Venice LA Fishing Report: 12-31-2004
Made a few lump trips this week and they were all the same. Plenty of action a good number of yellowfin and lots of blackfin. I fished with BrentJ and his wife, and John Billings and his daughter on tuesday and wed on their glacier bay. Each day was different. On tuesday we had a strong afternoon bite to end up with three yellowfin and a handful of blackfin and we left the tuna biting. On wed we had a strong morning bite and the crew decided after 4 straight yellowfin that they had enough tuna and it was time to try for something else. We did go after wahoo but not a single hit was to be had.
Most of the fish were caught on chunks of bonito and blackfin. I still have a few open dates left. Looking forward to trying for that elusive 200 pound yellowfin this year.
